Nuevos juegos de la mano de "Infinite State Games"

Buenas!

De vez en cuando suelo revisar el foto de FlashMasta, que se podría decir que es la comunidad de Neo Geo Pocket pero en EEUU. Me gusta entrar porque hay propuestas de desarrollo para consolas como la NGPC entre otras y es el único lugar que conozco donde se centralizan (de momento...).

Hay un usuario que suele estar activo y es el único que a día de hoy, ha hecho tutoriales para desarrollar homebrew para la NGPC y no es otro que Chris Ahchay. Este chico parece que colabora con el equipo independiente de desarrollo de videojuegos llamado Infinite State Games y han sacado dos nuevos títulos para Neo Geo Pocket Color.

Ambos parecen ser juegos tipo puzzle pero la verdad es que de primeras, tienen buena pinta.

Por un lado tenemos "Don't Die Mr Robot" que es un demake del juego original


"Fruit Pal's Revenge"
Parece ser un título completamente original



¿Alguno los ha probado? Yo aún no he tenido tiempo pero si que tengo intención de hacerlo. Para mi, son los primeros juegos completos homebrew que se hacen para la NGPC y creo que eso es bastante importante.

Lo probé en la página que compartiste y no conocía para nada el proyecto. Es curioso, sí, pero siento que no hay un homebrew serio o profesional como en otras consolas, sino más bien proyectos algo improvisados. Aun así, tengo ganas de ver el juego que tenías en desarrollo. @K'rohnen

Haha! It's so funny. I'm pretty bad, I'm not able to overcome 2nd level. But the first approach looks good. From my point of view, the selected palette of colours for the game is not the best, those reds and blues make me cry.

I've already tried it, and it seems like a more serious project than your previous ones. Is it a mix of Frogger and Cool Boarders? Do you plan to include Spanish or have any future projects in mind? I hope you keep releasing more games.

I don't have plans for localisation yet, but I can dig out the text if anyone would fancy having a go at them? Most of my text is hard-coded, but I could change that up fairly easily. I'd have to ask to keep it to the standard Roman alphabet as much as possible as I'm using the space reserved for accented characters for graphics - I could find room for a few accents if really needed

The source game was a parody of an ancient ZX Spectrum game "Horace Goes Skiing" - and that's also where a lot of the palette comes from - as you say, a combination of Frogger elements and downhill skiing. I've included a couple of elements from Ski Free as well (if you get to Day 4 you'll meet the yeti)

And yes, there are more on the horizon - Currently working on "Rogue Aces", but I may sneak in "Gardenia" before I release that
